Why "Wild Woman?"

I use the name "Wild Woman Quilts" because the concept of the wild woman is
a deeply spiritual one for me.  "Women Who Run With the Wolves" changed
my life and
I have come to believe and live by the words of Dr. Clarissa
Pinkola-Estes:

"Within every woman there is a wild and natural creature, a powerful force,
filled with good instincts, passionate creativity, and ageless knowing.  Her
name is Wild Woman, but she is an endangered species.  Though the gifts of
the wildish nature come to us at birth, society's attempt to "civilize" us into rigid
roles has plundered this treasure, and muffled the deep, life-giving messages
of our own souls.  Without Wild Woman, we become over-domesticated,
fearful, uncreative, trapped."

It is for that reason I am learning to live my life, my authentic, honest life.  I will
trust my instincts, create passionately and often, and fully accept my G-d
given gift, that is, a woman's way of knowing.  Being what others want you to
be is the slowest, most painful form of death.  I reject that and choose to live
deliberately.  My prayer and hope is that all my human sisters will set free this
ageless wisdom that is all too often locked within themselves.  It is only then
that they can freely howl at the moon and run with the wolves, becoming the
glorious creatures they were meant to be.
