Wild Woman Quilts

  • Trim quilt down to final finished size; we will not cut or trim any quilt
    top
  • Make sure all quilt corners are squared at a 90-degree angle
  • Measure quilt across top, middle, and bottom.  These measurements
should be equal;  If not, there could be puckers in the finished quilt
  • Make sure all seams are secured.  Stitch around entire quilt top 1/4”
    from edge to secure edges
  • Use one safety pin to mark the top of the quilt
  • Quilt should be free of pins, buttons (or other embellishments), hairs,
    and threads that need clipping
  • Quilt should be clean and free of odors, including cigarette odors; we
will refuse quilts that are permeated with cigarette smoke
  • Quilt top and backing should be pressed, with all seams lying flat
  • Make sure backing and batting are at least 8-10” larger than top or 4-
5 inches wider than the top's width and length on each side/edge.
Backing should be squared (see image below)
  • Bring top, backing, and batting in as separate layers
  • Only quilt-quality fabrics will be accepted; we will not quilt sheets,
    upholstery, or decorator fabrics
  • If you pre-wash your quilt top fabrics, we highly suggest you pre-
    wash your quilt back also
